DIVISION AND CONTRIBUTING EDITORS NEEDED

Guide to Reference is seeking a division editor and additional contributing editors.

A DIVISION EDITOR is needed in the area of General Reference Works for the term July 2010–June 2012. This General Reference Works division co-editor will coordinate the work of contributing editors in the following subjects:
• Encyclopedias
• Government Publications
• Language Dictionaries
• Online General Reference Libraries
• Other General Reference Works
• The Web as Reference Tool

CONTRIBUTING EDITORS are needed for the following subjects and language clusters (as of March 1, 2010). After you've reviewed this list find out how to become a contributing editor.

In the area of General Reference Works:
• Language Dictionaries—English
• Bibliography—National Bibliographies and Catalogs; Encyclopedias; and Language Dictionaries; in the following (or similar) language clusters*:

a) Afrikaans; Cornish; Danish; Dutch; Friesian; Gaelic; Gothic; Icelandic; Irish; Norwegian; Old Norse; Swedish; Welsh
b) Latvian; Lithuanian
c) Armenian; Azerbaijani; Georgian
d) Amharic; Languages of Ethiopia; Ganda; Grebo; Hausa; Ibo; Mende; Nubian; Somali; Swahili; Twi; Xhosa; Yoruba; Zulu
e) Aryan; Bengali; Dravidian; Gujarati; Hindi; Hindustani; Pali; Panjabi; Sanskrit; Tamil; Urdu
f) Chinese
g) Korean
h) Burmese; Khmer; Korean; Lao; Mongolian; Thai; Tibetan; Vietnamese
i) Fijian; Hawaiian; Indonesian; Javanese; Malay; Maori; Pidgin; Samoan

In the area of Humanities:
• Literature—Various Non-English (similar to language list above)

In the area of History and Area Studies:
• Latin America
• North Africa

* "Language clusters" are created to identify individuals or groups with sufficient bibliographic skills to manage key sources and records across a group of related languages. The Guide is currently intended to include only the core sources of use and accessibility to a largely English-language audience. Contributing editors with language skills may be asked to assist in areas such as Literature or History and Area Studies.
